REFORMATION RAMBLINGS or HAPPY THANKSGIVING

We all know the Reformation didn’t happen the day Martin Luther posted his statements in public view. It took years. Day by day. Miraculous and mundane intertwining until we look back over 500 years of Christian progress—numerically, geographically, theologically, and so much done in arenas of justice, education, and social issues. I am thankful to be a part of the ongoing reformation.
4WRD’s history is 3% of 500 years. We are thankful for the progress. Some progress ploddingly and some progress powerfully done, almost instantly. Let’s rehearse some of what’s happened:
- able to be in our own building (how many miracles for this to happen?!)
- lighted warehouse
- occasions that call for vacuuming
- pallet rack shelving quadrupling our storage space
- 78,000 books shipped per year last 3 years
- networking with Evangelical and Pentecostal organizations
- a trip to The Gambia funded in less than 2 weeks
- $30 a month support from an individual for 14 years never missing a month
- verbal encouragement from people whenever we meet them
- statements that prayers for 4WRD and us are offered regularly
- 4,000 boxes of books packed by volunteer Lynn Anderson
- 60,000 books encoded in 10 years by Ruth Flokstra
- 50,000 used books donated to 4WRD every year for the past 5 years
- every bill owed to vendors paid
So, we at 4WRD are happy and thankful this Thanksgiving for the mundane and the miraculous. For the power of God in reforming us and helping us expand the Kingdom.
Of course, we couldn't end this news without remembering to thank each of you for your emotional encouragement, prayers and financial contributions that make 4WRD a reality. Each and every day we are reminded, as we open our day in prayer, that 4WRD would not exist without the faithful support of each of you! Only eternity will reveal the impact 4WRD and each of you had in the big picture of the Kingdom on earth through the efforts of 4WRD. So often we are weighed down by the enormous need that is before us but we are also reminded that we accomplish what we can with the resources that are given us. We give our time and talents and are ready to do as much as your financial support allows us to do. This Thanksgiving you will be at the top of our list of reasons we are thankful.
