It was great to see you at our 10th anniversary reception at APHA in Atlanta. I was energized by being part of this gathering of our successful alumni, fearless students, loyal friends, and tireless faculty and staff who have helped to build our University of Maryland School of Public Health community over the past ten years. You have contributed to our momentum and impact in so many ways. You make me proud!
To keep you in touch with the SPH, we have signed you up to receive our monthly e-newsletter. We hope you will enjoy the selection of stories about our research, student and alumni successes and impact each month and share with others. We also welcome your suggestions for content and format. Please also share the video we debuted at the reception: UMD SPH: Celebrating Ten Years.
I'd like to channel the good energy and connections made at APHA into opportunities to strengthen our relationships and build the pipeline from students to alumni to successful public health professionals. I invite our alumni and friends to consider many ways to get involved in the School of Public Health community, including through mentoring students, hosting an intern, supporting the Fearless Ideas campaign, and much more.
As always, we invite our alumni to share their success stories with us so that we may include profiles in our regular communications from the school. Please email: sph-comm@umd.edu with your news!
I look forward to seeing you again soon and encourage you to stay in touch! Please plan to join us at APHA 2018 in San Diego!
