Gift

An Advent Course for Children

Gift is a six-week course which helps children prepare for Christmas.Using a theme which is familiar to them at this time of year, that of gift, it leads them through an exploration of what the birth of Jesus means for them today.

Led by adults, the course is organised so that each week the children consider a different aspect of gift. They listen to the word of God and then respond to it in a variety of creative ways. Clearly structured so that it is easy to follow, the course provides a reflective balance to the feverish, external preparation for Christmas, offering an opportunity to reflect on the meaning behind the tinsel.
Coming of the Saviour

A LifeBuilder Bible Study: 6 studies for individuals or groups.

The Bible looks at the coming our Saviour from many different angles. In these studies we see the birth of the Messiah from the perspectives of his parent, his aunt and uncle, shepherds doing a day’s work, far-off Magi and nearby despots – even the way prophets from centuries before saw things. May these studies give you a fresh vision of the coming Christ.

All I Want For Christmas

'Receive the life-changing gifts of Christmas. From the time the wise men brought gifts to Jesus, Christmas has been a time of giving. We give gifts to our loved ones, to the less fortunate, to the church, to favourite charities, to family, to friends, and even to our pets. In the best spirit of Christmas we give and receive Christmas gifts, remembering the greatest Christmas gift of all: God’s gift of the Christ Child, God’s gift to us of a saviour.

This study asks a very personal question: What are the gifts you would really like to receive from Christmas this year? And that is what this book is all about: our thoughts and ruminations about the amazing, life-changing gifts Christmas has for us!

Cover to Cover - A Child is Born

31 days for Advent for small group or personal use. The birth of Jesus would change the course of history forever. But what did it mean for those who held Him – God incarnate – in their own hands? This Advent, explore the Christmas Bible texts through the eyes of those who personally encountered the majesty and mystery of the incarnation, such as Mary, Anna, the shepherds and Joseph. Discover a new perspective on these familiar yet world-changing events, which show us how deeply God understands our humanity and moved to meet us in it.

Each of the 31 daily readings includes a prayer, a Bible reading, questions to ponder and an imagined monologue from one of the Bible characters. Divided into four sessions, which are accompanied with group study notes, this guide is ideal for both small group and individual use, giving opportunity for seasonal thought, prayer and discussion.
Names for the Messiah

For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; Authority rests upon his shoulders; And he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6)

In Isaiah 9:6, a divine utterance is given to us using four royal titles-Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Names for the Messiah ponders each title and how the people understood it then, how Jesus did or did not fulfil the title, and how Christians interpret Jesus as representative of that title.
