Mini horse // Mini Inktober  // Enormous cookbook
November 2017

Dear illustration enthusiasts,

Phew! Last month I did two conventions, had two mean hand injuries (one of which had to get stitched and still feels weird) and finished my ever-looming client work. After a comatose last week I can now finally start up with some more personal projects for a change, hooray! I'll keep you updated about what's hapening.
Have a great autumn, everyone!

JUST FINISHED

Another private commission

Remember the Junicorn-style horse portrait commission I showed you last newsletter? Here's the second one of Minette, a mini shetland pony. Was quite an interesting task to capture the likeness and character of an animal from description only, as I had never seen these horses in real life.

Mini Inktober

I couldn't properly participate in the #Inktober project this year (one ink drawing a day for the month of October), but at least I managed two pieces. I had a sleepy phase while tabling at MMC, so I started painting little tired animals. They're the same small size as my Tiny Inklings, 8 x 10 cm.

New and very special cookbook

I'm suuuper happy to finally present "Tierschutz genießen", a giant all-vegan cookbook by Deutscher Tierschutzbund and NeunZehn Verlag that came out just this month!

I was fortunate enough to illustrate the opening section (plus a few other bits) that explains all about veganism and debunks some common myths.

This book isn't just a big recipe collection (by lots of different chefs), but also a beautifully designed piece of activism. It even portrays the most common farmed animals and why it's the right thing to let them live their lives in peace instead of eating them. I'm very excited that the organisation is moving in this direction and really hope this book will have great success.

WORKING ON...

Website, paperwork, small children's book

I'll repair my damaged website this month, it has been offline for way too long now. Also there's tons of neglected boring paperwork and organisation on which I have to catch up.

BUT there's also art to create! First I'll finish a tiny little children's book project in cooperation with an animal welfare organisation that had to be put on hold temporarily. The first test paintings are happening already and I'm sure I can give you some sneak peeks here and there. Final release will be Easter though, so be patient.

EVENTS

None!

I don't have any events scheduled for November, since I'm pretty exhausted. Maybe something will come up for December, we'll see.
Have a picture of my lazy rabbits instead. (The hamster's doing fine, in case you wondered :D)
