Hey Makers!

The makerspace continues to change and improve thanks to volunteer time from the directors and members in organizing and improving the space. We have also received a number of donations of tools, materials, and equipment from members and the general public who want to see us succeed. If you haven't yet been by to see the space, or it has just been a while, come out to one of our Open House times to take a look.

Member MeetingsThe third Tuesday of each month will be our Members Meeting and social night. This gives members a chance to get updated on what is going on and have their say in how we develop. If you want to have a say in what Halifax Makerspace grows into you just need to come out and sign up as a member. We intend to keep the meetings brief; they will start at 7pm and finish around 7:30pm. The rest of the evening will be a social time to chat about projects and making.

An awesome, local, organisation called PLANifax is hosting this event. The description is:
We'd like to invite you to Inspire Halifax, a night where we showcase the individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are working to improve our city.

There will be food, a cash bar, fun activities, and maybe free t-shirts (while they last) 

Come anytime between 6:00pm to 8:00pm to get to know somebody, learn about new things, and maybe... get inspired. 

Halifax Makerspace will be there showing off some examples of what we are about. The event is open to all so consider coming and spread the word.

WorkshopsWe have already offered workshops on Wood Shop Power Tools and Laser Cut Notebooks. We will have more workshops coming on electronics, 3d printing, etc. Keep an eye out for details and if there are specific workshops you would like to see us offer please let us know.
