Work Party

We need you!

This coming weekend is our end of year work party (1 of 2).   

Between ski seasons work parties maintain the lodge and facilities. The work this weekend revolves around restocking the wood supply (shifting and stacking), cleaning the kitchen, minor maintenance (painting, fixing broken/damaged fixtures etc), washing all walls and windows, overall clean up, tidy up around the club (rubbish) and stocking of non perishable supplies.

They are also a fun way to meet club members, make new friends and enjoy the spectacular mountain.  

New members are expected to attend a work party to meet fellow members, learn how the club operates and how to care for the facilities (along with younger members moving to Senior status).  Bring up gardening gloves for handling firewood and some old clothes for painting and cleaning in.  Other materials/tools are provided.

Work parties are not just all work.  The food is awesome, the company entertaining and Mt Ruapehu is something truly special in the off-season. 

Existing members who attend work parties receive a credit towards their annual subscriptions.  And on top of all this the weekend accommodation and meals are free.  You can stay both Friday and/or Saturday night but make sure you are there for a 9:00am start on Saturday morning.
