Has Sugatsune mastered the art of concealment?

Sugatsune hardware tends to be manufactured to such a high standard you'll want to show it off. There are times though where it's happy to take a step back, to let your designs be the star of the show. Well made bookcases, for example, have no structural hardware in sight, just clean surfaces. However, it's usually desirable to be able to reconfigure the shelves at some point and for this the compromise is that the shelves themselves become passive components in the structure of the shelf, resting on push-in supports.
The strength of manufactured shelves with the flexibility of removable shelves
The new GN401 and GN402 invisible shelf supports from Sugatsune change this. The slide on design is made from hi-tech plastics that actually lock the shelf in place and contribute to the structural integrity of the shelving system.
The GN401 and GN402 - on the left - are concealed shelf supports with a locking system that strengthens cabinet strucure. The GN406 and GN407 on the right does the same for vertical dividers.
The GN406 and GN407 work in a similar way for vertical dividers, sliding down and locking into place. The supports are machined into the edges of the shelves or dividers and slide over protruding lugs screwed into the uprights. They can be removed at any time giving you the best of both worlds, structural strength and flexibility.
Floating shelves really open up spaces, the lack of verticals allows light to pass through and their inate sense of weightlessness uplifts us. The MN110 pictured below fits within the shelf itself rendering it invisible and yet it offers a firm support for up to 15kgs on a 150mm deep shelf. Best of all it is adjustable horizontally and vertically and also for pitch so your shelves will always be perfect.
The MN110 uses a rotating cam to adjust the pitch of the shelf, it is invisible in use.
Being able to remove panels and cladding can make life a lot easier but no one wants to see how it's done. Concealed panel mounting is now an easy proposition with the range of panel clips from Fastmount - distributed in the UK by Sugatsune. The Fastmount panel mounting system comes in a range of formats which can cope with rigid or flexible materials, curved surfaces and even textiles. Removing and replacing panels is easy and non destructive, ideal for routine maintenance or seasonal changes. Originally designed for super yachts, the system is robust and reliable.
The Fastmount system includes low profile and surface mount variants.
The traditional - and still effective way of hanging a panel is with a split batten. The downside to this approach is that the panel will stand proud of the wall to the thickness of the batten. So why not make the batten out of high strength and very low profile aluminum profile? That's the idea behind the AUH Panel Hanger. Two smart aluminium profiles are screwed to the support and the panel - hanging is as easy as hanging a picture but far more secure.
Ideal for shorter runs on even surfaces the AUH is cut to size then screwed in place.
Sugatsune has lots of ideas for concealed hardware, have a look at these door straighteners, hidden but highly effective. As always our friendly customer services team would be happy to talk through these products with you and to help you find out how they could add to your project.
