A Season of Thanksgiving
The calendar tells us Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas soon to follow. For some, there is little to be thankful for. This has been a very life changing year for many of our clients and in our community. We have seen the faces, continue to hear the stories of loss and heartbreak. The feeling of hopelessness and wondering if things will ever be normal again are daily thoughts. This is what the devastation of Harvey has meant to so many. For us here at the Pregnancy Help Center, this is the life of many of our clients everyday. Sometimes an unplanned pregnancy feels like the weight of the world on their shoulders: how do I tell my parents, our finances just won't bear another mouth to feed, I just started school, our marriage was already unstable, or the woman knows the father of the baby will have nothing to do with either of them-he has already left.
These are the people we see everyday-our clients. Not all are sad or hopeless. Some are in stable relationships and a baby is just what they have prayed for or the news of a pregnancy is rejoiced in the counseling room when the test comes back positive, and some just need formula or diapers until the next payday.
And how do we minister to all of these clients, the hope-filled, the hopeless and those just needing material things for their babies? We do it by the generosity of God's people through financial giving, donations, our 2 annual fundraisers AND the prayers of many! We never see a client without realizing it is all through His grace and mercy that we are called to this ministry. We never doubt the fact that it is not a 9-5 job. It is a calling, a privilege and a blessing to be able to meet the needs of those clients right where they are and share His love, grace and mercy with them.
We just wanted to say "Thank YOU" to those who support us. Whether you pray for us each day, or give monthly or yearly, or serve a meal in H.O.P.E. classes, volunteer to teach a class, or serve as a liaison in your church. A liaison is our voice in the community and their home church who also helps with our Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser. We are very THANKFUL for each of our supporters and know God provides for each need here at the Pregnancy Help Center. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

PRAYERS! We have been so blessed with material things for our clients and we are thankful. We always are in need of prayers.

We love being able to provide so many educational classes such as Car Seat Class and H.O.P.E. classes. Upon completion of each class we give them an evaluation form and ask the questions of what they liked best and what was your favorite part of the class? Each time we hear things like:
"We loved the education because we had no idea how to use a car seat."
"The parenting class really helped us to think about how we want to raise our child."
"I had no idea what to expect during childbirth, but this class will help us prepare for the birth."
These comments and so many more encourage us to continue supporting and loving on those in our community who need what The Pregnancy Help Center has to offer.
