The first group of 13 Mayan Q'eqchi' plaintiffs arrive in Toronto, Canada.
El primer grupo de 13 demandantes Maya Q’eqchi’ llegan a Toronto, Canada.

Over the next 3 weeks, 11 of them will be questioned, during examinations for discovery, by Hudbay' stable of lawyers from the Fasken Martineau law firm.
Durante las proximas 3 semanas, 11 seran cuestionadas por el equipo de abogados de Hudbay Minerals/CGN.
These lawsuits aim to hold Hudbay/CGN accountable for mining related repression at its former mine site in Guatemala, including gang rapes of 11 women in the remote community of Lote 8, the targeted killing of Adolfo Ich, and the shooting-paralyzing of German Chub.
El proposito de estas demandas es responsabilizar a Hudbay/CGN por represion minera alrededor de su ex-mina en Guatemala, incluyendo la violacion de 11 mujeres de la comunidad de Lote 8, el asesinato de Adolfo Ich, y el ataque que dejo paralizado a German Chub.

The group was accompanied from Guatemala by lawyer Cory Wanless, and in Toronto, were met by lawyer Murray Klippenstein and Grahame Russell (Rights Action).

Over the next 3 weeks, Hudbay's flock of lawyers will cross-examine the 11 rape victims from Lote 8; Angelica and German will be deposed in early 2018.
