TIMELESS LOVE, AGELESS DEVOTION

NOVEMBER IS ADOPT A SENIOR PET MONTH!

Core Paws is devoted to helping hard-to-place animals, which often include senior cats and dogs, which is why we love to recognize November for Adopt a Senior Pet Month! Puppies and kittens are certainly adorable, but older pets have just as much love and loyalty to give as their younger counterparts. In most cases, senior animals have had a loving home before and they desperately want one again.

If you've been thinking about bringing in a new four-legged family member, consider an older dog or cat in need. Visit Core Paws to view some of these adoptable animals.

THANKFUL FOR OUR PARTNERS

THIS WEEK IS National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week

This Week is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week
Each and every day, Core Paws is so grateful to our shelter and rescue partners across the U.S., but this week especially, we recognize our partners during National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week (November 5‑11).

To each of our many partners, thank you for letting Core Paws bring your animals into the spotlight and for joining us in finding your hardest cases the perfect forever homes. We certainly could not accomplish our work without yours!

To our other Core Paws supporters, we would like to take this opportunity to let you know how you can also support our shelter and rescue partners, or your local animal rescue organizations.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

ANIMAL AID, PORTLAND, OR

Core Paws Partners with Animal Aid
Core Paws partners with Animal Aid, a Portland, Oregon-based shelter that has helped tens of thousands of companion animals through rescue and adoption programs for homeless animals, financial and volunteer support of spay/neuter efforts, and by providing funds to guardians unable to pay for urgent veterinary care.

Through Animal Aid's Helping Hands program, hard to place animals are provided treatment of significant, chronic medical or behavioral issues that might otherwise hinder them from finding forever homes.

Another one of their impactful programs is Heartstrings, which allows supporters to sponsor long-time shelter animal residents still waiting for their forever families.

HONOR & RESPECT

OUR SECOND ANNUAL TIHAR DOG HONORING CEREMONY

Core Paws' Second Annual Tihar Dog Honoring Ceremony
Last month, we held our second annual Dog Honoring Ceremony in Portland, Oregon. Inspired by the second day of Tihar (the week-long Hindu "festival of lights" that occurs in Nepal), we celebrated the intimate relationship shared between humans and dogs.

NEVER TOO OLD
TO BE LOVED

CAN WE SPEND OUR GOLDEN YEARS WITH YOU?

Adopt Sneakers!

SNEAKERS
West Columbia Gorge Humane Society
Washougal, WA

Hello, I'm Sneakers! I'm a lovely senior lady, although I admit I can sometimes be a bit fussy and grumpy. It takes me a little while to warm up to strangers, but I'd still love to go home with someone who recognizes when I want all of their attention and when I want some space. I used to have a home with a big dog, another cat and kids, so I'd do well with other animals and older children. Do you think you'd be a good fit for me? I would love to be a part of a family again!
Adopt Ana!

ANA
Save a Sato Partner Shelter
Albion, NY

Hi, my name is Ana! In all of my nine years, I've had a rough life: I was abandoned on the streets of Puerto Rico many years ago, and I've had at least two litters of puppies that were rescued before me because they were so cute and small! I spent years out there until a local family contacted Save a Sato, who flew me out to New York. Many people pass me up because they think I'm too old, but I still have SO much life in me. I am energetic and playful, and a happy, healthy girl who wants to be your very best friend!

UNBREAKABLE BONDS

DONNA & DELIA'S BONDED PAIR ADOPTION STORY

Read More About Donna & Delia's Adoption Story!
When Kristi and her two daughters met Donna and Delia for the first time, this bonded pair stole their hearts. Donna shyly wagged her tail while Delia let herself be hugged. They knew Donna and Delia were a perfect fit for their family.

Kristi says, “The unbreakable bond I see in these dogs is like the unbreakable bond my own daughters share.” Delia, the braver of the two, “pushes Donna, who is more fearful out of her comfort zone.” Going from a kennel environment to their first house was a big change. Having never been on carpet or gone up a flight of stairs, Donna and Delia are exploring their new world together.
