Private Conversation with Kathy Matsui (SAIS Class of '90), Vice Chair of Goldman Sachs Japan
Join Ms. Kathy Matsui following her talk, "Abenomics and Womenomics: A Conversation on Macroeconomic and Structural Reform in Japan," to glean insights from her post-SAIS career in the finance world, particularly in Asia. This small group meeting is an excellent opportunity for female students to ask questions and seek career advice from an impressive alumna. Sign up for this unique experience here (please note that the list will be capped at 10 students, so sign up today!)
"What's Next? Ensuring Implementation of the New U.S. Women, Peace, and Security Act"
The Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Agenda represents one of the most critical and widely-lauded United Nations agendas promoting international peace and security. Inclusivity in conflict prevention, resolution, and stabilization has proven to lead to more sustainable peace and societal stability. Despite this, women’s leadership and vital contributions remain largely absent in prevention and peacebuilding efforts.

Join a conversation on November 15th from 3-4:15pm that will examine how the U.S. Government, UN agencies, international NGOs, local women’s groups, and others can work together to finally break through persistent barriers and ensure that girls and women are at the forefront of bringing stability, security, and peace to their countries.

Featuring:
  • Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka – UN Women Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women
  • John Allen – Retired U.S. Marine Corps Four-Star General and incoming President of Brookings Institution
  • Ambassador Swanee Hunt – Founder and Chair of Inclusive Security
  • Elizabeth Cousens – Deputy CEO of the United Nations Foundation
  • Honey Al Sayed – Director of Media and Arts for Peace Initiative of the Geneva Center for Security Policy
Reception to follow. Please RSVP here by November 13th, and address any questions to events@unfoundation.org.
