Judy and I have finished two of the three mornings teaching dancing at the Fleetwood Sikh Academy. This morning, the students showed a lot of enthusiasm to repeat the dances, it was really a delight!
Our AGM is coming up on November 20. Please come, bring a snack to share if you like, and help us make decisions! Although we value all your opinions, according to society rules, only members can vote. If you paid for the year (or half a year), you are a member. Have an issue that you want on the agenda? Let us know!
Extra events are optional and are listed here for your information. If a couple of hours of dancing once a week on Thursdays is as much as you want or can manage, that is fine!
- Dance Demo at Amenida Seniors’ Community, 13855 68th Ave, Surrey, from 2-3pm on Friday, November 17. Meet there at 12:30pm. Let me know if you are available.
- Annual General Meeting, Monday, November 20, 7pm, at Dale's house, 16479 - 92A Ave, Surrey. Bring a snack to share.
- Dance teaching at the Sikh Academy Elementary Schools: final morning in Fleetwood, November 9, and in Newton, November 27 – December 1.
- Teaching at party in Agassiz, 7pm, Friday, December 29.
- Pre-festival workshop with Sonia and Cristian, Thursday, April 19, 7-10pm.
- Lyrids Folk Dance Festival, April 20-22, 2018. Featured teachers will be Sonia Dion and Cristian Florescu. Save the date!
- Post-festival workshop with Sonia and Cristian, Tuesday, April 24, 7-10pm, at Charles Rummel Community Centre in Burnaby.
