The Training Desk: Issue 24

Life happened. I'm back. How have you been? No really, how are things going? Are you enjoying these articles? Have they caused you to think through training differently or have you shared them with anyone? My goal is for this to be a resource for as many people as possible. 

What Yoga Does to Your Brain: I appreciate that this gives me two points of attack regarding yoga. First, when I started it this spring I immediately experienced the health benefits. And now secondly there's additional scientific research supporting the advantages of having yoga in your weekly pursuit of health and fitness.

Standing All Day Is Twice as Bad as Sitting for Your Heart | Runner's World: As the author notes, we've seen this before with multivitamins and OTHER. Still, as a person who stands a majority of the day, this one caught my attention. As you'd expect, everything in moderation.

What You Should Know When Dating a CrossFitter | ACTIVE: A friend of mine was running downtown a few weeks ago and wondered, "why are all these very ripped people running around with their shirts off?" The Crossfit games took over Madison and they're here for the next three years - very cool for the city! This article caught my attention only because of the :) 

Run for your (long) life - Harvard Health Blog - Harvard Health Publications: yada yada yada be a runner. Five minute per day minimum, 4.5 hours per week maximum.
