This session will focus on when and how to say "no" to opportunities in academic medicine and setting priorities and clarifying your own goals and commitments.

This seminar will address women faculty in their early careers specifically. All faculty, fellows, residents, students, and staff are welcome. A light lunch will be provided.

The Industry Roundtable brings together researchers from academic medical centers, industry partners, and advocacy organizations to discuss and advance non-proprietary issues relating to drug and device development, evaluative and comparative effectiveness research, and the dissemination of knowledge about clinical research findings. The purpose is to provide a forum to collaboratively identify, clarify and solve common challenges related to clinical research, as well as to foster a broader, consistent relationship and understanding where academia and industry interface.

Workshop on Translational Challenges of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells

 
This workshop, presented by NCATS, will focus on defining collaborative opportunities, addressing challenges and applying best practices in translational iPSC research. Topics of interest are quality control standards for pluripotency, safety, experimental reproducibility, cost-efficient scalability and manufacturing, improved and efficient differentiation protocols, advances in functional characterization of cell type identities, and other relevant questions. As a deliverable of the workshop, the gathered information and recommendations will be used to draft a white paper for the translational stem cell community.
