The PIC genetic improvement program is focused on maximizing the profit potential of commercial market pigs in our customers' operations. Traditionally, breeding companies only used data from their elite genetic farms to make selection decisions. However, selection solely based on data from these farms may not robustly predict performance in commercial environments. As a result, PIC implemented the Genetic Nucleus Crossbred program (GNX-bred program) in 2003 to address this issue.
