Letter from the President:
Thanks to everyone for a great start to the 2017-2018 School year! We are off and running this year and so excited to see what the year holds. It was so heartwarming to see our school and district come together to support those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Tiger Nation at its finest!
We have so many wonderful events coming up that will help to support the many programs that our PTA funds throughout the year. The next big fundraiser, Octoberfest, is October 21st from 2 to 5pm! We are in need of volunteers and sponsors for this event. When I first came to DSE four years ago, I didn’t know anyone, and one of the first committees I joined was Octoberfest ("Fall Fair" back then). I had such an amazing experience volunteering and really saw what passion our volunteers have for this school and our kiddos and how really FUN they are! I really hope you will consider joining us to put on this amazing event for our school! If you are interested in volunteering on the day of the fair, please click here. Celebrate your student's birthday with their name on the DSE school marquee!
For$25, we will list your student's name under our "Happy Birthday" banner on the marquee at the front entrance to the school grounds. Names are changed each Monday** and will stay up through the following weekend. Only 5 students per week!*
Please select a week below and click "Submit and Sign Up. "Then,click this link and make your payment.If you signed up more than once, please be sure to pay for each student. Once paid, your student's birthday will be celebrated in style by the DSE School Community!
*Because of space on the marquee, and the school calendar, we realize that not all students will be able to have their names in print on the marquee. This is just another way to raise PTA funds for our school.
**If the Monday (or Mon/Tues) of the week you select happens to be a school holiday (or student holiday), the marquee will be updated the next school day.
Making a Difference for Our School ~ Our goal: $3,500 (35,000 Box Tops)
Please clip Box Tops- Each Box Top is worth .10 for our school. This money goes straight to the
PTA to help with various items and programs throughout the year. Dates must be readable and not
expired or we do not receive credit. Box Tops can be found on hundreds of quality products from brands like *General Mills *Pillsbury *Betty Crocker *Ziploc *Kleenex *Hefty and more.
Submit your readable and not expired Box Tops in a baggie/envelope with your teacher name and
grade. Place submissions in the Box Tops Bin located near the 1st cafeteria door.
Visit www.btfe.com for a complete list of participating brands and to join our school’s Box Top family online. You’ll be able to track our school’s earnings and enter for chances to win extra cash for our school, plus receive coupons, recipes and bonus offers on occasion. Make sure to enter our Box Tops ID number 186122. This year we are continuing with our reward system for Box Tops. We will keep totals for each class during the year and when your class reaches the number of box tops below, your class will win the corresponding reward.
500 Box Tops = Extra Recess
1000 Box Tops = Prize Box
2000 Box Tops = Extra Recess
2,500 Box Tops = Extra Recess and Treat
3,000 Box Tops = Pajama Day and Treat
3,500 Box Tops= Pizza or Ice Cream Party
