T-Minus 2 Weeks
Welcome to the fifth newsletter of 212 STEAM Labs, Inc. This has been an incredibly busy week. We have been working hard building work tables and meeting with many different people to help clean the space up to look nice for the opening.
Pat Bereskin is transforming the art gallery space and it is amazing. I am in awe of the art perspective of seeing the world and design. I have already learned via osmosis and cannot wait to develop the 212 STEAM Lab space into an amazing innovation hub.
Here is a rundown of things accomplished this week.
1. Met with a few people who are going to help clean up, texture, and paint the walls and ceilings to give the space a cohesive look.
2. Built two work tables and building several stools this weekend for the work areas for students.
3. Designing a layout to allow efficiency and freedom of exploration of students.
4. Received some HUGE donations and help from The Project of Quad Cities to help outfit the space. We will be doing work to organize and sort.
5. Made some adjustments to the website based on feedback. I appreciate the feedback as well as ideas that people would like to see be offered in the space. Keep the ideas coming as this is an organic process to ensure that we create a space that is for the community developed by the community.
Registrations are coming in so if you are thinking of taking a class make sure you sign up. Our classes are limited to 15 students to ensure proper teacher to student connection and relationship building.
One of the goals of this non-profit is to help connect the dots of all the amazing people, business, and organizations. I have been overjoyed by the people who have reached out with their willingness to help out, donate materials and resources, and volunteer to work in the space. It is a constant reminder that there is so much good in our community and we need to continue to celebrate these moments.
Finally, we have had a surge in newsletter readers based on the article from the QC Times so I just want to share again the podcast episodes documenting my journey so far. I have more coming out this week.

We are hard at work writing grants to seek funding to bring in some money to bring our big ideas to life. Fingers crossed some of these come through as we have some BIG ideas that we want to do and cannot wait to make it happen.
If you are not seeing classes that meet the age of your children, then please stay tuned. We will be launching many more workshops, drop in classes, and more very soon.
