I read every one of my emails.
My daughter knows she has to give me a breakdown on what she learn new at school & what they go over in math, language & reading everyday.
All the other subjects are mostly reading...science & social studies.
In math, they are hit with a lot of roundabout talk, Common Core. That crap has too many steps. I must hear all the fat the school throwing in the pot, then, I get on the dry erase board & show her how to strip all that roundabout math procedures down to the real.
I want to hear what reading tools & techniques they learn from day to day.
I want to hear what writing tools & techniques they learn from day to day.
As parents, we must stay on top of what is going in school with our children.
Next thing you know, it's time for progress reports at half way through the 9 weeks grading period.
The main reason I ask my daughter how the day went, is to have her give me an oral report everyday of what she learned in school.
She knows she must pay attention in class, because she must give me an oral report everyday of what she learns.
And when it comes to math, we are going to go over 2-3 problems on the dry erase board to knock all the fat off that roundabout Common Core Teaching Methods.
I show her how to Check her Math & Show Proofs of her eliminated math steps.

Do your children know how to change from a decimal to percent or percent to decimal?
What about a decimal to a fraction or fraction to decimal?
Do they know the difference between a proper fraction, improper fraction or a mixed fraction?
Do they know decimal places? What lies on the left & right of a decimal? Do they know the left of a decimal represents whole/--& the right of a decimal represents part?
Do your children know signed numbers (Intro to Algebra)?
Do they know how many Degrees are in a Circle? What does half represent in a circle? What is the name of the line that runs straight through the center of a circle making 180 degrees on both sides? What is the name of that line?
Do they know another name for a Right Angle/how many Degrees does a Right angle represent?
Our children should be spitting the answers to these questions like they spit/recite whole rap songs, love songs, and any other songs they know from top to bottom, left and right, and every other kind of way.
We got to get on the grind of elevating our children's minds/once they grow up/ain't no rewind/without proper knowledge/how they gon ever get they self out a bind?/Knowledge is powerful/when applied/let's be real folks/& get off pride/--we should be tired of being at the foot of civilization/we are a powerful people/when we unite & build/we ain never got to yield/dreams do come True/if we stay true to ourselves.
