STUDIO 1 - SHOCKHEADED PETER

Shockheaded Peter

In this Chicago Storefront Premiere musical, a sinister but incompetent master of ceremonies leads the audience through the tale of a childless couple that has their fondest wish granted in the most delightfully dreadful way imaginable, accompanied by vignettes in which the hilariously horrible fates that befall naughty children everywhere are brought to darkly comedic life. Featuring music composed by the Tiger Lillies, this musical returns to the Athenaeum (and Chicago) for the first time since the show toured here with the original cast in 2001 in its first homegrown production by Black Button Eyes Productions.

ON THE MAIN STAGE - WILLY WONKA JR.
Willy Wonka, Jr.

Dream Big’s 3rd Annual Production Camp proudly presents Willy Wonka Jr! Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir is a golden ticket to adventure. This professionally produced production performed by 2nd-8th graders is an impressive treat your whole family won’t want to miss!

DONATE TO THE ATHENAEUM THEATRE
As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit art organization we rely on donations from our patrons to fund improvements to the Athenaeum.  Support comes entirely from our modest $2.00 restoration fee on each ticket sold, grants and individual donations from our patrons. However, only 10% of these funds come from patrons like you.  Your contribution supports the ongoing restoration, maintenance, and improvement of this century-old arts complex.
Individual donations have been critical to The Athenaeum’s ongoing efforts to make essential repairs and improvements to the facility’s physical plant and to modernize the equipment and patron environment in all four of our performance spaces.  Over the years donations have been used to make the Athenaeum a much safer, efficient and more comfortable venue for both our performers and patrons.  We hope you will join with us and consider investing in our efforts to keep improving our performance, rehearsal and office spaces for Chicago’s music, theater and dance companies. PLEASE DONATE

Thank you for your generosity in supporting the arts in Chicago.
