Greetings from O'Brien Guitars

I mentioned in a previous newsletter that I participated again this year in the annual Guitar Town event at Copper Mountain, Colorado. I usually have my camera with me as I travel and this event was no exception. I sat in on a workshop with all the musicians for the acoustic day. The participants were folks like Tommy Emmanuel, Doyle Dykes, John Jorgenson, Joe Robinson, Richard Smith and several others. The theme for the discussion was collaboration. I think you will find many of the things mentioned and discussed very interesting. They also discussed a few lutherie related topics. Here is the video of that workshop.

I also filmed a few of the songs that Tommy Emmanuel played during his set. Tommy is always a crowd pleaser and fun to watch. Here is one of the videos. I have more videos of Tommy at Guitar Town on the video page of my website located under the "others" tab from the drop down menu.
This past week I announced the release of my Online Ukulele Building course filmed with Canadian luthier, Heidi Litke of Red Sands Ukuleles. The course has been well received and many of you have already told me that you are enjoying the step by step video lessons and are well into building your own ukuleles. I look forward to pictures of the instruments you are building and stories of how much fun it was to build and play your own ukulele.

If you are interested in learning to build guitars or just want
to see how I build my guitars then schedule a class with me.
If you are in need of a concert quality classical or steel string
guitar then let me know as I would love to build a guitar for you.

Thank you,
