Greetings from Country Cove!
Another Christmas tree season is nearly here! It's been a good year with plenty of rain and a fairly mild summer. We've trimmed and topped the White Pines, Leylands and Carolina Sapphires. We've mowed, weeded and cleaned. We've set up the tents, balers, shakers and Fraser Fir tree troughs. The complimentary hayrides, hot cocoa, spiced cider, fire pits and corn hole games are ready for another Opening Weekend, November 18 and 19!
With all the excitement for the 2017 Christmas season, we must pause and share some sad news. Our Country Cove family lost a hero in October as Mr. Joe Clayton passed away in Enid, Oklahoma. Many of you remember the founder of Country Cove as a warm, kind and friendly man who was passionate about the Christmas tree farm. He will be missed.
Here's an update on the latest happenings at the farm:
Choose & Cut Trees
Leyland Cypress trees on the farm are doing well with over 200 in the 6'-7' range and about 50 in the 7'-8' range.
White Pine trees have grown tremendously with the mild summer and plentiful rain. All sizes are available, including 10' tall White Pine!
Carolina Sapphire trees are mostly under 6', but we will have taller trees for the 2018 year!
Pre-Cut Fraser Firs
As always, we will have fresh pre-cut trees from the mountains of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Our pre-cut trees are the freshest you will find anywhere! Tree sizes will range from 5' - 12'. We were not able to secure Concolor Fir, Noble Fir or Douglas Fir this year.
Pre-Orders for 11' - 12' Fraser Firs
Please contact us at countrycovechristmastreefarm@gmail.com to reserve an 11' - 12' Fraser Fir. We only order limited quantities, but want to get you the size tree you want. We don't take orders for other tree sizes.
Nursery Stock
Norway Spruce and Blue Spruce will be available in 8" pots. Decorate the potted tree and use indoors for a few weeks, then plant your tree outdoors.
The Christmas Shop
A new cash register system will make checkout fast and easy! We are also using the mobile register outside for our tree-only customer (are there any of those??). More custom painted items from Paint with Pizzazz's Crystal O'Neal. She painted ornaments and tall wooden signs in holiday motifs. And don't forget the free personalization on our adorable collection of Rudolph and Me ornaments. More beautiful ornaments, banners, table top decor, lit pictures...way too much to name! The Wreath Shop
Country Cove's custom wreath shop continues to offer the freshest and fullest wreaths, garland and swags around. You can choose your bow and wreath decor and we will add it to your wreath. To pre-order garland to your specific length, please email us (countrycovechristmastreefarm@gmail.com) so we can have it ready for you when you arrive.
Kirby's Mini-Donut Food Truck
Yes, we are having a food truck this year! Jamie and Kirby will be at the farm with not only mini-donut buckets, but hamburgers, hotdogs and a few other yummy items. Check out our Facebook page to get specific days they will be at the farm: www.facebook.com/countrycovetrees.
Hospitality Bar
Our complimentary hot chocolate and spiced cider area has been moved to a new building to the west of the Christmas Shop. This will allow more room for serving you and for you to mingle with your family and friends as you enjoy your hot beverage. Also, the corn hole games are close!
