Due to potential flooding, Fall Kickoff is now 9/10

Fall Kickoff will now be September 10th.

We're taking the cautious route and moving Fall Kickoff from this Sunday back two weeks. This will allow us to plan properly (food, bounce house, etc.), and hopefully it'll allow us all to bring our friends who are likely to be holed up this weekend.

Baby Dedication will now be October 1st.

We were planning on shooting family videos on 9/10. Since that's now our party day, we'll instead shoot the videos on 9/17. Accordingly, baby dedication is being moved back a week too. (We'll need time to prep the videos and such.)

We're still planning to have our worship service this Sunday.

Check our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates, but our plan is to have our normal 10a worship service unless it's unsafe to get to our building. That said, please be safe. Turn around, don't drown!

Let's pray. Let's serve our city.

As someone whose house has flooded twice in the past two years, I can tell you first hand that flooding is awful. (Don't worry--our house is now three feet higher than it used to be, so we should be as safe as anyone in Houston.) Many of you have served Kim and me so selflessly both times--I'm praying we'll serve all of our neighbors with the same love we'd show each other, if things go bad this weekend. In the meantime, I'd encourage you to pray. Pray for the safety of our city. Pray for the safety of our first responders. Pray for opportunities to connect with your neighbors in humility, humanity, and love.

Longing for grace to restore nature,
Zack
