Latin American and Caribbean activist network of people affected by TB launches in Peru: 4 regional networks of TB activists and survivors launched in one year

 

The Stop TB Partnership is pleased to announce the establishment of REDTBLAC, (Red de Personas Afectadas por Tuberculosis en Latino América y El Caribe), a newly formed activist network of people affected by TB from the Latin American and Caribbean region. Full story here

Stop TB Partnership's TB REACH initiative funds innovation and fosters grantee-grantee collaboration

 

Through the Stop TB Partnership’s TB REACH funding platform, the Partnership recently connected two TB REACH grantees, enabling them to collaborate and combine their expertise and creativeness to reach new goals. Read more here
 

Communities and Civil Society Strongly United in Strategic Advocacy for TB UN High Level Meeting Towards Ending TB


As we embark on the road to the United Nations High Level Meeting (UNHLM) on TB, the Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with APCASO and Treatment Action Group (TAG), hosted a global meeting from 29-30 July, where more than 60 community and civil society advocates from 32 countries strategized on advocacy priorities promoting community-led, people-centered, rights-based and gender transformative approaches to end TB.  Read more here.

TB REACH-funded project in Madagascar uses autonomous drones for delivery of samples


Stop TB Partnership's TB REACH initiative is funding a project in Madagascar using autonomous drones for delivery of samples. The project started implementation in July and installed an Xpert machine procured through the Stop TB Partnership's Global Drug Facility in a district lab in Ifanadiana. 

Peruvian communities' health workers: a video spotlight

Tuberculosis Stories videos present testimonies from Peruvian communities’ health workers, community health promoters and people affected by TB who illustrated the challenges they face.

The videos are part of the project “Examining health system performance for indigenous people in the Peruvian Amazon through the lens of tuberculosis control". See here
