You're Important

This is not a "marketing" e-mail designed to "sell" you something. And this does not go out to all our customers. If this shows up in your inbox, here's why:
  • Corporate accounts are particularly enticing to fraudsters. We constantly receive information about new threats and we think it's important to pass pertinent information along to you.
  • Corporate customers have complex needs. We like to share stories of ways we've helped customers work through their unique circumstances so you know we're here to help you with yours.
  • New regulations periodically impact your account. We want to be sure you know about them.
  • We want you to know when we roll out new products or services that may help your business gain efficiency or reduce costs.
  • And last but not least, we want to cultivate our relationship with you. We want to tell you what we're up to and we want you to tell us what you need or wish we could do for you.
We know you're busy and get lots of e-mail but we hope you find value in ours.

What's New

Same-Day ACH
Currently most ACH payments are settled on the next business day. However, a new rule goes into effect on September 15, 2017 making same-day ACH debit payments an option. Beginning on that date, it is possible that pre-authorized payments initiated through an electronic terminal, telephone or computer, may clear your account on the same day you authorized the payment.

Health Savings Accounts
A few issues back we mentioned that we now offer Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). So while that's not new news, here's what is: Following the failed health care legislation last month, Senator Graham (R-SC) and Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) drafted a new healthcare bill which, among other things, includes improved HSA benefits, such as decreasing non-medical spending penalties. We cannot predict whether this legislation will pass. What we do think is that including improved HSA provisions in the bill is an indication that current trends showing more employers offering High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) and more employees choosing them are likely to continue. If you are considering this for yourself or your business, check out our HSA information here or speak to your account officer to learn more.

Worth Mentioning

  • We've raised our CD rates twice recently. If you have funds you don't need for a while, consider putting them to work in a CD. Click here to see current rates.
  • Do you typically carry balances over $25,000 in your business checking account or do you have both a business checking and a business savings account with us? Converting your checking account to a Commercial Relationship Checking account may provide you benefits you're not currently getting. Click here for details.
  • We're committed to providing continuing education opportunities for our employees and are pleased to announce that Commercial Lender Ryan Newton graduated this month from the 3-year Graduate School of Banking program in Madison, Wisconsin.  Commercial Lender Bryan Rowland just finished his first year in the same program. Additionally, our IT and Network Specialist Adam Sutherland will be taking a course this month to become a Certified Bank Cybersecurity Manager™. If you see these employees, congratulate them; their accomplishments benefit you!
