"Foot Washing"  Continued  /  by Ralph E. McIntosh

John 13:3....

3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under His power, and that He had come from God and was returning to God; 4so He got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around His waist. 5After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.

Jesus did not have to do this!  He was the teacher, the leader, and they now understood He was LORD, the Son of God!  But, Jesus was making a point. This was a demonstration.  A demonstration of love and humility.  It was not a ritual to perform.  It was a precedent we can't ignore.  It said...
I may be Lord, but I came to serve you and do the most humble tasks for you in love...the tasks that only a lowly servant would perform!

So, fast forward two thousand years into today.  If we look around us there are immense needs on every front. We can't meet them all.  But we can ask the Lord for guidance on where we are to help.

Recently our 2002 Suburban developed a transmission problem. It would no longer go in reverse!  Well, I don't like experiencing reversals anyway!   But we still have to go many places in our ministry.  So dear friends of ours offered to "wash our feet." They gave us another Suburban to fill the need.  It is an amazing car and fills the need exactly like the 2002.  In reality, they" washed our feet" by helping us get from our Jerusalem to our Judea, Samaria, and Uttermost parts!   They interpreted sandals  as tires by offering to take off our sandals and put on new ones for us!

We have a couple of projects that fall into the same category of helps.

We are again raising funds for Veterans in worship bands.  Our goal is $10,000 and we have received about $2,000 to date. We know God inhabits the praise of His people.  We are excited about helping with this worship project.

Our son, an Army and Air Force veteran, has been playing saxophone in an amazing church, Everybody's Tabernacle in Clearwater, Florida that ministers to Veterans and homeless people.  He has been borrowing a saxophone.  He plays saxophone at a professional level and is being asked to share his music talents in other venues.  He needs a better instrument to effectively do his job.   We have had some donations made to help and could still use more.  If you would like to help, here is a link for PayPal giving to that project.

The other current project we mentioned in our last letter.  Christa Ives and her daughter are now in Uganda ministering and still need funds for feeding the people and for much-needed shoes for children.  Christa raised her own money to go over to do this ministry, but needs additional supplies that are available for purchase there.  They are planning a village feeding program to bless and draw people in to hear the Gospel.  We are able to send funds to them easily and would love to do so.  Her ministry PayPal through ACTS is listed below.  This is a chance to wash the feet of some Ugandan children and assist a couple of brave missionaries.  Christa and her daughter are in Uganda for several more weeks.
