WeGO successfully held the 4th WeGO General Assembly from June 27-30, 2017 in Ulyanovsk Region, Russia. Under the theme of "Smart Sustainable Cities for All”, over 400 delegates from 125 cities and 59 international organizations and partners worldwide took part in the high-level meetings, sessions, Design Thinking & Ideathon Workshop, matchmaking meetings, exhibitions, and tours. Some of the highlights of the General Assembly include: establishing a WeGO Regional Office for Latin America and the Mediterranean in Mexico City and Beyoğlu, respectively; introducing a new corporate membership category; updating WeGO's Vision, Mission, and Three-Year Strategic Plan; and approving WeGO’s new name. The WeGO General Assembly also elected Makati, Philippines to host the 5th WeGO General Assembly.  We hope to see you in Makati in 2020!
Be part of the 2017 Asia Pacific Cities Summit & Mayors' Forum

WeGO is partnering with Daejeon and the APCS Secretariat in organizing a session on "Digital Social Innovation" at the 2017 Asia Pacific Cities Summit & Mayors' Forum. Now on its 11th summit, APCS provides a dynamic and interactive platform for participants to exchange knowledge, identify a common agenda, develop shared solutions, improve city governance across the Asia-Pacific region, and ensure sustained prosperity. More information on the event can be found here.
Join the 3rd Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on Smart Cities and e-Government

WeGO is co-organizing the 3rd Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on Smart Cities and e-Government with ITU, where the WeGO-led high-level discussion entitled “Leading the Way: Local Governments at the forefront of Smart Sustainable City development” is considered one of the main highlights. The forum will be taking place alongside the Digital Thailand Big Bang 2017 and the Annual IoT Asia Pacific Summit. Details on the event can be found here
Participate in the Smart ABC Event at ITU Telecom World
September 25-28, 2017
Busan, Korea
WeGO invites its members to take part in the “Smart ABC” Event at ITU Telecom World 2017, the global platform to accelerate ICT innovations for social, economic, and industrial development. The event will be focusing on the latest technical developments at the intersection of three key emerging smart sectors: Artificial Intelligence, Banking, and Cities. Take part in BIXPO 2017 
November 1-3, 2017
Gwangju, Korea
WeGO is partnering with  the Technology Innovation Accelerator, XnTree, and inviting members to join its New Technology Exhibition pavilion at BIXPO 2017 in Gwangju, Korea from November 1-3, 2017. BIXPO, hosted by ​the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), promises to be one of the world’s premier platforms for sharing and exchanging smart and sustainable city technology and trends, and it will be highlighted by the Smart City Global Leader’s Summit, which will include a roundtable discussion led by mayors from around the world. Details on the event can be found here.
Application for the Joint NIA-WeGO Workshop for Smart Sustainable Cities and e-Government
November 20-23, 2017
Seoul, Korea
WeGO and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) of Korea will co-host a joint workshop on Smart City and e-Government issues for central and local government officials from November 20-23, 2017 in Seoul, Korea. During the program, there will be discussions on various smart city dimensions like smart government, smart mobility, and smart economy, and with the help of prominent experts, participants will also find solutions to the most pressing challenges in their respective cities. WeGO Signs MoU with OGP

WeGO and the Open Government Partnership (OGP) recently signed an MoU to collaborate and exchange knowledge and ideas relating to their respective programs and to explore other areas of mutual cooperation. These may include working together on training programs, WeGO's thematic clusters, OGP's thematic working  groups, and the WeGO Civic Participation System. WeGO welcomes new members
After the 4th WeGO General Assembly, the following cities joined WeGO: Magas (Russia), Peshawar (Pakistan), Dhulikhel (Nepal), Villa Tapia (Dominican Republic), Accra (Ghana), and Penang Island (Malaysia). WeGO is looking forward to working with these cities in helping them pursue smart and sustainable development.
Know your city's e-Government maturity through the City e-Government Diagnostic and Solution (CeDS) Online Platform
The WeGO Secretariat encourages its members to use the CeDS Online Platform, a diagnostic tool to help members analyze their city e-Government maturity and identify key action items without the help of outside experts. The platform is exclusive to WeGO members and can be used up to 4 times a year to check the development progress of a city’s e-Government environment and to formulate effective development strategies. Members should contact the WeGO Secretariat and get their log-in credentials to start using the CeDS Online Platform! More information on the CeDS can be found here.
