exhibition
In the duo exhibition with Marit Dik at gallery Hommes I will show new work; a serie of drawings which I made in an artist-in-residence in December 2016 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The works are in partly inspired by historical photos and information I came across in museums in Reykjavik, found on the internet, saw during a visit in the exhibition Sea Women at the Maritime museum and on my walks through Reykjavik. This is reflected in a series of drawings on cardboard and paper. Beginning 2017 I continued working on the Iceland series in my own studio, and also these drawings and a number of new paintings in egg-tempera are shown in the exhibition.
Visit the exhibition during a special opening weekend on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday 3rd of September. Saturday the 2nd from 17.00 hrs with a opening speech by Rianne Makkink, Studio Makkink & Bey, Rotterdam/Kraggenburg (Noordoostpolder) and on Sunday the 3rd from 15:00 to 18:00 hrs. The exhibition runs until October 14th 2017.

residency budapest
In finding the balance between the quiet of the countryside and the cultural dynamics of the city, and after previous residences in Leipzig and Reykjavik, I immerse myself in Budapest's culture. After the opening of the exhibition at gallery Hommes I am travelling to Budapest, Hungary where I will be staying for a month at Art Quarter Budapest to make new work and collect ideas for new work.
