Congrats to Rick Roberts with Miracle Street Gallery who was the winner of last week’s trivia question. Colorado would have hosted the 1976 Winter Olympics.

When is the next time a total solar eclipse will happen in the United States?

To answer, please use the “reply” button from your email browser.  Please allow other Lakewood-based businesses an opportunity to win and promote their business if you have won in the past.

Police Earn ‘Gold Standard’

The Lakewood Police Department has received its 10th law enforcement “Gold Standard” accreditation award. This award sets the benchmark for professionalism in public safety, and less than 2 percent of accredited agencies receive this award. Having been accredited since 1986, the department has one of the longest tenures as a CALEA accredited agency in the United States. This is the second time Lakewood Police have received this award, which was earned under the leadership of Police Administrative Coordinator Cathy Schulz. Police Chief Dan McCasky thanked Schulz for her dedication and commitment to the department and the accreditation effort, and he congratulated her on her retirement from the department this month. Learn about the accreditation process at Lakewood.org/Police.
