Camden Above the National Average
Camden students put in a fine performance in the exam halls this summer. In August, as the results rolled in, it emerged that a quarter of GCSE entries were awarded the top grades – A, A* or 7 and above for maths and English (under the new grading system). This was 5 per cent above the figure for all schools nationally.
Meanwhile, 72 per cent of all GCSE entries in Camden schools were awarded a grade C or grade 4 and above (a ‘standard’ pass under the new system). This is 6 per cent above the national figure.
As for the very highest grade - 9 - this was secured by 5 per cent of all entrants – compared with the national average of 3 per cent. Students need higher marks to get a 9 than to achieve an A*.
At A-level, provisional figures show that the overall pass rate at grades A* to E was 98.1 per cent - again above the national average of 97.9 per cent. It means that half of all Camden A-level students were a grade higher than last year.
