Danna Sanders was baptized on Sunday, August 27 at the Wiregrass House Church (Enterprise) meeting of the Auburn Tuskegee Christian Church.  Danna is married to an Air Force officer stationed at Fort Rucker, and has two children, ages 3 and 1.  She is a teacher by trade, taking time off to raise her young ones.

Danna was first invited to the Wiregrass group over a year ago by her friend, Sarah Whitmey, who was a new disciple.  Sarah moved away immediately after Danna came to house church, but Danna soon built a strong friendship with the women there.  She studied the Bible and found herself face to face with personal issues from her past.  These issues took some time to work through.  Danna persevered, however, and resolved her issues.  She wanted to be baptized, but held off because she thought she needed to be perfect first.

With the loving help of the sisters, Danna realized that she didn’t need to be perfect, she needed the Spirit’s power.  It was a joyous celebration when she took the plunge and professed,” Jesus is Lord” this past Sunday. 

“Danna has been acting like a disciple for a long time,” said SeAnne Kaufman, stating that the new member is always in attendance, brings food, and helps with the children and service projects.  “She has an incredible story of going through a lot in the past.  To be the person she is today, it’s exciting.  She’s got a story to tell and it’s going to be really helpful when she starts making disciples.”
