We're excited ... are you? September marks the start of another show season for us kicking off with Birds In Art at the Woodson Museum in Wausau, WI next week! We've both been keeping really busy in the studio working on paintings for upcoming juried shows. Some of these we've shared via the blog only at this point in time. Others are still hidden from view until we hear the results. Rachelle's also recently "finished" her last two commissions. We'll share them once the gifts have been given!
In addition to working hard at the easels we've been spending many of our daily exercise periods at the river just down from our house. We figure it's just about the end of "water season" now with the start of September both due to colder temps and us getting busier with the business. We've both been working on a new series of paintings for the upcoming Waterfowl Festival and hope to see many of you there! (We're supposed to be back in the Armory). Please note, we will not be attending the show in Thomasville this November.
As you hopefully noticed in the newsletter header, or on the blog for those who follow us there, we've been spending extra time in the evenings working on an exciting new project: A miniature railroad diorama! Wes had one in his bedroom as a teen and we enjoyed one together when we lived in Florida and had kids in the family at that age to enjoy them. It got dismantled when we moved to Tennessee and has been in a box for the past 16 years. Not anymore! With nieces, nephews and neighbors' grandkids visiting, we thought it was a GRAND excuse for us to build a new one for all to enjoy. Rachelle's been sharing images of our progress on the blog so check it out below to see more!
