Good Morning, Friends,                                                                       Aug. 30, 2017
It's such a privilege to again spend a few moments sharing of the goodness of God!
We had a such an encouraging phone call last Wednesday afternoon when the church back home called to ask how they can pray for us that evening.  The encouragement was so abundant that I KNEW deep in my heart that THIS is the key to ministry!  We've said it often, but it was a blessing to feel it so keenly!  The next morning one of our children said, "Mama, I slept so well and feel more rested than I have in a long time."  I replied, "I did too and you know why?  It's because the church back home was praying for us last night!"  "Thank you, friends!"
Several things we asked them to pray for was for Misael's youth topic in Zacamil this past Saturday night, as well as protection.  God answered both of those prayers the same evening!  He spoke of "God has given us all things that pertain unto life and godliness... and if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." 2 Peter 1:3-10.  We saw God's mighty hand of protection that night as we had 3 situations that were near to bad accidents, but in each one, God protected us!  Then, too, the one vehicle let us set on the way home, but we were close to a 24-hour gas station where we could wait for help instead of on the side of a dark, lonely, 4-way highway only 3 minutes earlier (and 24-hour gas stations are few and far between down here!)  God was with us!  With all the challenges, it took us 4 1/2 hours to make the 1 1/2 hour drive - but even with going to bed at 2:00 a.m., we were able to get up the next morning with strength to go to church, for we keenly felt God's protection over us!  Thanks again, friends, for praying for us!
The month also held some happy times... the first Saturday in August, Misael took the Home boys with ours to a park called Impossible as an effort to spend some fun times together and not only teaching and training in the office.  They hiked back in several miles to a river and had a good day enjoying the beauty of God's creation along the way.
I treasured my time with the 2 oldest girls of the Home Saturday night at the gas station. They showed a lot of character as we sat there waiting - in the meantime, enjoying each others fellowship!

We had the privilege of celebrating Yaqueline's 15th birthday at the Home this past Friday night. (Above pictures)  She had planned a nice, simple party complete with some girl friends from our other churches, a devotional, and pupusas.  We spent some time remembering the miracle of her life - she was born with a blocked valve.  When we brought her to the Home, they told us to take her home to give her a decent death...  Gustavos thought she may even die on the way to the Home, but God had a better plan for her and through many miracles, at 3 years of age, she was able to receive a fully donated surgery at the Iowa Children's Hospital.  We needed to sign papers to release her, as the doctors felt there was only a 25% chance that she would not die on the surgery table.  God had His mighty hand over her and she started improving immediately after surgery and today one can not tell how much she suffered as a little one!  Praise to God, she is a healthy, active, dedicated 15-year-old Christian.
We felt heavy as Bladimir chose to leave the Home to live in the world with his mother, the day after he turned 18.  He had been looking forward to leaving, but at the moment he was leaving, a sadness was evident... may the Truth he heard, not leave him in peace until he repents and comes to God!
Wilbur is too dreaming of the same when he turns 18 in December.  Friends, will you rise to the challenge of praying that he will let God change his heart before then?!  He's been with us since the beginning, but the world calls him...  We feel burdened for him!
We as a church greatly enjoyed Arthur and Lil's visit this past month!  They brought a lot of joy and encouragement.  We want God's will for them - but we'd love to have them back!
Kevin came through well with his surgery.  He struggled with infections in several of his pins last week, but PTL, it's cleared up again!  Therapy has been a challenge, but he's up and around, washing the car, mowing...  Gustavo is trying to get a visa so he and Adely can go up to be with Kevin when he has his surgery on his arm in October.     Will you join in praying for his visa, if it is God's will?!
Thank you, friends, for praying for us!  Your support is such a BLESSING to us!  We praise God for you and wish you His abundant, overflowing blessings in Christ Jesus!
                                     For the Sake of Christ,
                                     Misael, Regina, and family
