It's all about you!

It is with much pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to 'Economic Development New Zealand'.

A new name, a new branding, new offerings and above all, the opening of doors to enable all economic development practitioners, and their associates, to join EDNZ, are just some of the changes that distinguishes the new organisation from the old EDANZ.  You can explore the changes in the narrative that follows.  We encourage you to join us and be a part of the change.

Paul Casson, Acting Chair of EDNZ
New name, new look, new purpose!

The new name reflects a more inclusive membership approach than that in the past, whilst the logo speaks to our Maori and Pacifica cultures, as well as the integrated and overlapping nature of our work.  The three koru shapes also reflect our three intertwined new membership categories.
New purpose!

The new EDNZ has been designed to support and empower all economic development practitioners and associated professionals through a very specific suite of services and resources. To learn more about the changes in purpose and services click on the video link ...
New services and resources!

Along with the new look and more inclusive membership EDNZ is celebrating a range of new services and resources for its members.
Those services and resources include,
  • a jobs board,
  • an international and national news service,
  • a greater media presense,
  • a policy and research arm that will inform our advocacy efforts on your behalf,
  • the opportunity to have 'a say' in submissions to government and
  • a code of ethics which will set practitioners apart from non-members.

Well underway are also plans for delivery of a professional development programme that will be of immense relevance to your day to day work and an annual salary survey that will give you the edge when negotiating a rise.
Other changes ...

There are a number of other changes that EDNZ has made to support the new organisation.  Those include a new constitution and development of a code of ethics.  The Board is also busy developing a new set of regulations that will augment the constitution.  Once the new changes are bedded in the Board will consult with members, new and existing on how the governance of EDNZ might better reflect our membership in 12 - 18  months time. Stay tuned.
Become a member!

EDNZ membership is open to all individuals and organisations either working in or associated with, economic development within New Zealand.  For those of you who will be attending the EDNZ conference you will be rewarded with 12 months free membership.  For those of you who aren't, then please check out the criteria for membership and the fee structure here ....  To join the EDNZ family of economic development practitioners follow this link.
