Meet Morning Sun's NEW Esthetician Extraordinaire: Marie Etten

We're excited to welcome Marie Etten—the newest and now the third member of Morning Sun's growing team.
 About Marie Etten
Education and experience: Marie is a graduate of Capri College in Cedar Rapids, where she focused on esthetics.
Services: Specialized facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, sugaring, and body treatments. Marie specializes in Brazilian waxes, sugaring, comma brows, and treating problematic skin.
How Marie got started: "I started my career in personal care as a massage therapist 13 years ago, wanting to help and heal through massage. I decided to get into skin care to help people look and feel amazing.
In her spare time: Marie likes "anything outdoors"—her family likes to fish, dance, and listen to music. She's also interested in continuing education in esthetics and learning new techniques and treatments.

What the heck is sugaring?
|
|
|
Sugaring is an all-natural hair removal treatment practiced for centuries throughout Northern Africa, Greece, and the Middle East. Many people promote sugaring as a superior alternative to waxing, for a couple of reasons.
|
|
The esthetician rolls the sugaring paste—made from lemon, sugar, and water—onto the skin, and removes the hair follicles from the root.
This is one of the main differences between sugaring and waxing: while wax bonds to both the hair follicles and surrounding skin area, the sugaring paste bonds only to the hair. It doesn’t pull on or irritate the skin.
The process works on any area of the body, is safe for those who are prone to allergies or ingrown hairs, and is beneficial for people who typically experience razor burn or rashes.
Sugaring is long lasting and can be performed more frequently than waxing. With sugaring, there’s no need to grow the hair out for weeks or endure stubble in between treatments.

Share an experience of relaxation and recuperation with your partner, spouse, friend, or loved one. Two tables and two therapists in a calm, peaceful room where you can receive a personalized treatment simultaneously.
Enjoy a one-hour couples massage for just $150 or a 90 minute massage for $210.
