Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name.
2 Samuel 22:50
We have had a whirlwind of a summer!  Over the next few weeks, we will share with you what happened in shorter installments, to keep you from being too overwhelmed!  Thanks for reading and praying!
We were in Hungary (with a quick 3 day trip to Vienna) for 16 days and in that time we had 11 concerts all told.  We stayed in a conference center with our team of 22 people from Georgia and a supporting Church called Chino Valley Community Church in California.  In addition to our stage team, we had an awesome Hungarian sound man who took time out of his own work to help us.  We also had an awesome, dedicated bus driver who toted us around in his nice bus/van for the two weeks, putting up with our odd traveling and eating hours with much grace, love and laughter!
A Typical Day :
Wake up (after sleeping in a hot, non-air conditioned room!)
Eat breakfast with the team - more like a lunch with cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and bread.  Cereal was provided sometimes as well as boiled eggs.  Thank God for the coffee!
Team Devotions - Bill unpacks a scripture, we share about the previous night's concert and followup, then pray with our tour prayer-partner.
Eat Lunch - sometimes at our accommodation or at the church we are ministering in.
Head out to new ministry destination - could be 1 hour or 4 hour drive depending...
Arrive, set up, invite people on the street, do concert, pray with respondents, tear down, travel back to our "home" OR stay in other accommodation depending on how far we traveled.
Start all over again!

Of course in between these times there are lots of other things that go on such as repairing equipment, making new friends, eating the awesome, Hungarian ice-cream called "gelato", ministering to each other, praying, quiet times in the word, some sight-seeing, etc.
Each concert was unique in it's own way in regards to type of audience, venue, and location.  At least two Catholic Churches opened their doors to us:  to hold the concerts, invite the entire community, and bring the Gospel!  Sometimes the concerts where in regular churches, city squares and parks.  I would like to highlight three of the concerts that held special meaning to all of us, each held in unique places.
This was our last concert but my favorite of all! We were privileged to minister to a home for the mentally challenged and physically disabled, operated by a Christian organization. They were the most responsive and encouraging audience (as depicted in the pictures here). I call them the "real people" as they had no problem entering in clapping, dancing and literally praising the Lord and making a joyful noise! If WE could only be as uninhibited as they are when it comes to expressing joy and praising the Lord! 🙂
The workers expressed their great appreciation for our coming in and ministering to THEM!  They said Christian bands like ours have never come before!  What a privilege!
This concert was at a former Soviet Army Base where before the Iron Curtain fell, thousands of soldiers in the Soviet Army were based to help keep Eastern Europe under their iron grip. It is now a place where former homeless gypsies, drug addicts, and others rejected by society can find safe haven. It is run by a Christian organization and even has a church in the former mess hall of the officers where there use to be a mural dedicated to Satan. It's a beautiful story of redeeming an ugly period of time and turning it around to the beauty of our life-giving Savior, Jesus Christ! People who live on the property are turning their lives around and leaving a hopeful legacy for their children. You can see the restored apt. building and a garden where they are growing vegetables. I've also included a picture of one of the many unrestored barracks. It's quite a place!
This afternoon concert took place in one of the Catholic Churches out in the countryside.  Close by was a home, again, operated by Christians, where men who need to be free from various addictions can come and get help and freedom from their bondage.  They served us lunch in their "home", then we moved to the church for the concert!  On the top left picture you can see three women who came to "check it out" and I saw them enter in just like the rest of us!  Very heartwarming.
Bill prayed with 2 men to receive Christ after the concert, other band members also had the same opportunity! Thank God for the language translators!
