Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
Psalm 20:4-8
<<Salutation>>
We are now back in the U.S., and enjoying a special time with friends and family. Thanks for the travel prayers…our travel time back home went very well. We are now eagerly awaiting some exciting family events…God is so good!

We are now getting into the swing of things. We have shared at several churches, and been on the road quite a bit already. Our hope is things will settle down, and we can do some serious sorting and “purging” with our home belongings. Catherine stayed busy working on that while Les was away to the annual DeRoos Men’s Camp. Now we are putting our heads together to make a final call on things, and then haul them to their new home.
It’s strange for us to be back in our home for the first time in six years with no other inhabitants! The big old house is certainly quiet and spacious, but like anything else, there are good and bad advantages to our new living conditions. Please continue to pray for our adjustment, and how we treat the future regarding what we will do with the house. Thank you!

Pray for Texas:
This past week we have watched with sadness the unfolding events of Hurricane Harvey as it pummeled southern Texas. It has caused us to relive our own experience of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti last October, and it has certainly given us a deeper compassion for the people of southern Texas as they deal with this catastrophe.
There were several similarities, such as, the strength of the hurricane, the uncertainty of where it would make landfall, and those in its path trying to prepare for what they could not comprehend. While, as of the writing of this DeRoos Drumbeat, Hurricane Harvey is now a tropical storm, there is ongoing rain and continued flooding and displacement of masses of victims. We remember from our own experience that while those who hear of the news of the crisis are genuinely concerned, over a short period of time, their interest of the situation moves on, as well as national media coverage and interest. The victims, however, are truly in for a long period of recovery, and we know the recovery and rebuilding process of this will take months, if not years.
We wanted to encourage you to keep the situation and those involved in daily prayer, and persist long after you hear of any news through major networks or social media. The biggest source of encouragement to us during our difficult time was the communication we had from friends and family who shared we were in their thoughts and prayers. We know from experience, your prayers are vital, and will be a great source of encouragement!!

Robert Ti Coute:
Robert is 17 years and has been at the Center of Help facility for as long as we have been associated with it. He has a great sense of humor and is always willing to lend a hand with any of the work-related projects, from helping install solar panels to mixing concrete, Robert enjoys being involved.
We don’t know much about his background or what the circumstances are that inevitably cause him to be at the Center of Help. We do know his life has been immensely improved, and he has a smile and a servant’s heart that reflects an appreciation for what God has done for him.
Robert is fully sponsored, but he is only one of a handful at the Center of Help who is. If you would consider helping sponsor a child at the Center of Help, we would be grateful.
Please just contact us, by responding to this email, and we can get you more information. Thank you!
