Ugly, delicious organic nectarines, super good Murcott Mandarins and Wenatchee apples.

This week farmer MacGregor from Tiny's Organics turned me onto his “Western Sweet” nectarines.  They are sweet, crisp and not too juicy, and a real taste treat. I hope to keep them coming through the end of the month. And speaking about endings, I suspect the peach and nectarine season is winding down.

But don't fear because we scored some early and excellent Murcott Mandarins that just dropped into Seattle. These beauties are tight-skinned and filled with sweet, firm citrus flesh. Store them chilled in a fridge for a healthy office snack.

We have some local, crisp and sweet Pink Lady apples from Wenatchee. Next, you'll be seeing Galas come to market. The Honeycrisp are huge and too big to include, but I'm watching for a snack size to come to market in the next 3 weeks.

You'll also see some good red seedless grapes and, of course, our “Rain Forest Alliance Certified” green-tip bananas. We ripen our bananas ourselves to make sure they are just right for eating today. Please let me know how I'm doing.

Our $49 customers will see Mango Tango pluots and Daisy Mandarins in their order for the week. I hope you enjoy the heat while it lasts. And thank you for your business.
