Young Creatives Kalamunda

Our jam packed 'creativity fest' is back and better than ever. Young Creatives is an initiative by the City of Kalamunda, designed to give young people the opportunity to get creative within their community. Through September and October we are hosting over 30 FREE* events ranging from art exhibitions, to barista workshops, to live Art installations. There is sure to be something for everyone's creative tastes. Be sure to register for your favourite activities as spaces are filling fast.

Perth Hills Spring Festival

Spring is here and with it returns the Perth Hills Spring Festival for it's 3rd year. Our beautiful City will be serving up some spectacular scenery, tempting wineries, boutique shopping and cafés aplenty. Plus each weekend of October, we have planned a host of events and activities for all ages. Whatever you’re interested in: food, wine, markets, music, gardening, photography, art or walking – the Spring Festival is not to be missed.

Bibbulmun Track Northern Terminus

We were pleased to officially open the new trail linking the northern terminus of the Bibbulmun Track to the Zig Zag Cultural Centre at the opening ceremony on Friday 1 September. The trail was opened by Mayor Andrew Waddell, Member for Kalamunda Matthew Hughes, Federal Member for Hasluck, Minister for Aged Care; Indigenous Health Hon Ken Wyatt and was well supported by Bibbulman Track Life Members, City of Kalamunda employees and local residents.

The design of the new designated Trail has a strong indigenous influence, with artists Aurora Abraham and Sharyn Egan collaborating with the City of Kalamunda project team. The project has been supported by Tourism Western Australia through the Tourism Demand Driver Infrastructure program.

Youth Arts Fest

An exciting display of young talent was revealed to the public on Friday 1 September at the Zig Zag Gallery. The theme of the exhibition encourages artists to consider 'Place and Space' in their works and has seen an exciting and diverse range of work produced. The opening is also the official launch of Young Creatives Kalamunda which will see a over 30 events rolled out across September and October. The exhibition will be on display to 17 September.
