The theme is "The Science Behind Leadership." The cost will be $30 per attendee and will include training, an attendee gift, and lunch. Conference registration will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your chapter’s registration will not be complete until your online registration and check are received. You will receive an email confirmation invoice for your registration after submitting your registration online. Online registration will open on Sept. 18 at 8 a.m. CDT and close on Sept. 29.
Note that each Tennessee CTSO requires each advisor to have in his or her possession at conferences a completed CTSO Release Form for each conference attendee. 2017-18 SkillsUSA Tennessee State Officer Application

SkillsUSA members seeking to broaden their opportunities with the organization should consider a campaign for state office as being an officer is a great way to help make a difference in your school, community, and state. State Officer Candidate Applications are due by Feb. 1. Please make sure to review the state officer candidate page fully to understand the process, expectations, and requirements for state officer candidates.

SkillsUSA Framework

The SkillsUSA Framework turns chapter activities into intentional learning that helps students grow in the areas of personal, workplace, and technical skills. The framework illustrates how students fulfill the mission of the organization: “to empower members to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens.” One way to start is by using the Career Essentials: Foundations Curriculum to embed these free framework lesson plans that come with your professional membership.
 What it Does
  • Provides a common language for students to articulate what they gain from SkillsUSA participation to employers, school administrators, parents, and other students
  • Assesses student skill development along a learning continuum of awareness, demonstration, and mastery
  • Creates a vision for SkillsUSA programs at the local, state, and national levels to ensure quality student-led experiences that build skills in all members
 Why it Works
  • Empowers every student to achieve career success
  • Delivers a skill set demanded by business and industry, but lacking in many employees today
  • Ensures that every student member receives a consistent and specific skill set

Chapter Excellence Program (CEP) Teacher's Guide

Everything you needed to know about implementing the Chapter Excellence Program (CEP) can be found here. The CEP honors chapter achievement relative to SkillsUSA’s framework of developing personal, workplace, and technical skills. The CEP establishes a quality baseline that all chapters are encouraged to attain with extra incentives for exemplary chapter performance. The program consists of four award levels, with the first three levels recognized by the state, and the final level eligible for national recognition. Please note tickets to the former “100% Advisor Reception” held at national conference will now be based on your CEP application. Only the advisors who have completed a CEP application and achieve either a gold-, silver-, or bronze-level award will be invited to the reception in 2018. Start your application today!
