Through the Shiloh “Back 2 School” project we were able to support 56 children, over the spectrum, giving them hope and a better future.

Currently we support 5 families of the ‘Back 2 School’ children with monthly food-hampers and clothes. Two of these households consist of a child headed family. We work together with the schools and the local welfare workers to address the problem.  Needless to say, that our help is crucial to these children and families.

But all is not sad though. With a little help many children excelled above their circumstances.  Ancelim , a grade 10 pupil and a strong IT student, were elected among many to represent his school in Korea during the school holidays.

Melani, one of our old ‘Back 2 School’ pupils, finished her studies at University with a CUM Laude in Maths. She is currently teaching maths at a Secondary school and studying for her doctorate.

Elzaan works at a lawyers firm in Cape Town. Sesethu is employed as an administrator at one of Shiloh’s JES-ECD schools. Hilda, Salina and Lebo were trained as JES teachers and are serving their community at our two Wallacedene schools. This is some of the success stories.

The Shiloh ‘Back 2 School’ Project supplies needy children with the necessary basics to be able to attend school properly.

We supply school clothes for Summer & Winter, stationary, a contribution towards school-fees and lots of motivational encouragement and love
We believe all children have the right to an education.

Leadership, development and self-esteem building, forms a big part of our development strategy.

Encouraging children to become what God intended for them to be, and to give them hope, is at the heart of the project. We work in conjunction with the schools and their welfare workers.

On a lighter note: A woman struggled into her post office one day, carrying what was obviously a heavy parcel. She said that it contained a large family Bible which she was sending to a relative researching a family tree.
With great difficulty she placed it carefully on the scales.
"Is there anything breakable in this package?" she was asked.
"Yes," she replied, "the Ten Commandments."
