Affirmation Time Lets Go
Last week was full of hardships in Casa De Rocha, so much that I myself had to sit down and renew my own self-worth. Build up my own motivation and eliminate the doubt and fear!
The best way to start experiencing renewed energy for those struggling with self-doubt is by crafting self-affirmations. After all, you can’t control what those around you say or think about you, but you can control what you read and declare to yourself.
Here are a few tips for implementing a self-affirmation routine in your daily life.
1. Bookend your day with self-affirmations. One in the morning and one at night.
Start and end your day with positive thoughts and prayers. We are all going to go through struggles during our day. But as we wake up each morning, we should anticipate the day with joy and vibrancy. Then at the end, close our day with optimism and positivity. No matter how hard the day was. There is always something to be thankful for.
2. Whenever you accomplish something positive in your day, write it down.
At the end of the day, review the list to remind yourself of how often you do good deeds—for yourself and others. Maybe even notice what good deeds were done to or for you and you can repay the gesture tomorrow or another day.
3. Remember: Little things are the big things.
Give a hug, take a hug. Small and kind gestures towards others depicts that we have an abundance. We want to share it with others. Sometimes it's just what we all need to boost our day. Like those commercials that show random strangers helping someone else out, it gets witnessed by another individual that person in return helps out another stranger. Then at the end of the commercial there is a message “KINDNESS PASS IT ON”
4. For every good deed you affirm, think of another you can perform the following day.
During the day we all know we could have reached out to help to another human being. Maybe we knew we have been rushed and we could have woken up earlier and set up things better for ourselves. Think about what you missed in your day and make sure that tomorrow you act on it!
5. Hold on to good intentions.
Articulating your good intentions is a way to make them tangible. When you know they are part of your active life, you’re more likely to act on them in the future. Never let a good deed go unpaid. For example, if you ever miss out on a moment to kiss your spouse or tell them you love them, stop! Kiss them and hold them for a while but never miss those opportunities.
6. Watch, listen, and learn.
While self-affirmations are about you, there’s always opportunity to learn from the good deeds of others. Take these and make them your own. As the old saying goes, “Pay it forward.”
At its core, self-affirmation is designed to help balance the harsh realities of a frenzied life. Now is the time to reaffirm that you are important, and you can impact people around you. Let your passions and virtues shine and the world around you will be a little bit brighter.
