There has been a lot to process over the past few weeks as far as political statements and natural disasters. We stand with our Trans family who serve in the military honorably and with distinction. Let's hope that any "studies" being done as to the military readiness of our military individuals  finds inconclusive evidence and allows the Transgender individuals to keep serving.

Many of us have had numerous request to donate money or items to those displaced by Hurricane Harvey in South Texas. There are several sources that you can donate to if you feel so inclined. The LGBTQ Disaster Relief Fund, organized by the Montrose Center (Houston's LGBT center), Americares, Transgender Center, LGBT Resource Center at the University of Houston and more. Also the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce can be a source look at as well.

On the brighter side, Tucson Pride's two big events are coming up Sept 29th and 30th. Sept 29th is the Pride Parade down Fourth Ave. If you have never been in this parade, it is a lot of fun and the Chamber wants your company representation!! Register online if you want to order a banner to hold in the parade. And if you want to march but without a banner, please come! 

Sept 30th is the Pride in the Park (Reid Park). I have made arrangements for a big 20 x 20 tent to give chamber members a chance to be in front of 3,000-5,000 people. Half and whole tables are available. You can reserve your spot online. Those of you who have a table reserved, remember to bring goodies or hand outs to the attendees! You can also go to www.tucsonpride.org to see what will be happening.

Erin Russ and I spoke at the Visit Tucson office downtown. Approximately 30 people were there representing different hotels, travel destinations and others who were interested in learning how to become a LGBT friendly business and ask themselves if they had up to date human resource policies.

September's Out and About is hosted by SAAF at their office. Looking forward to seeing many of you there to learn more about the mission and hear the passion of SAAF.
