St. John's Bible coming to MC Sept. 21-22

The St. John’s Bible, the first handwritten, illuminated Bible in nearly 500 years, is coming to Maryville College Sept. 21-22.

The public is invited to presentations and an interactive event to experience the unique manuscript, all led by the Rev. Dr. Ann Laird Jones, arts ministry director at Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, N.C. Read the press release.

With more than 40 current MC students from the greater Houston area – and countless MC alumni, faculty, staff and friends who call Houston home – the College is committed to helping with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Family views solar eclipse

Solar Eclipse

Maryville College was in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on Aug. 21, and the event brought more than 1,000 people to campus to view the eclipse. In addition to MC students, faculty, staff and alumni, the College had guests from all over the United States, and at least 20 different countries were represented! Check out the photos and watch a video that captures a 360-degree view of campus during totality.

Wildlife Photography Calendar

The Division of Natural Sciences at Maryville College is selling 2017-18 wildlife photography calendars, featuring photos taken by students in Dr. Drew Crain’s “Wildlife Photography” course. For details on how to order this beautiful 17-month calendar, visit the MC website.

Know anyone who is beginning the college search process? On Sept. 11, MC will host the Blount County College Fair and Financial Aid Night for area students and their families. Know students who would thrive at MC? Please encourage them to attend Meet Maryville on Oct. 7 or Nov. 4. MC is also partnering with Vienna Coffee to present “College & Coffee,” a series of weekly events for those who want to learn more about MC and the college search process.
