Calling for volunteers!

Our very first swim meet (since leaving our beloved American Club pool) will be held on Sunday, October 8 at Bukit Merah Lifestyle Center.

As part of the Merlion League, participant clubs host one meet a year. October is our turn and we are appealing to our swimming members for help!

On the day of the meet, the Aquatics team will need assistance from parents and friends who can time the races, provide cold drinks for volunteers, assist with the 'running' of information between coaches, among other jobs. Volunteers do not need to have an in-depth knowledge of swimming.

Please contact Aquatics Manager Elspeth at elspethl@amclub.org.sg if you'd like to volunteer!

Pizza & Plunge Party
Back by popular demand!

Our first pizza & plunge party was a success and we can't wait to see you all at our next one on Saturday, November 18! We'll have plenty of pool activities including mini water polo, inflatable rides, paddling pool, inflatable slide, and of course, loads of pizza!

How did our swimmers do at the last Merlion Meet?

This was the first meet of the term and we had nine swimmers from the SwimAmerica program. They had been working on their stroke technique and it manifested - which goes to show that if you continue to strive to do your best at each training session, your hard work will pay off! Great job to all swimmers and their teachers.

As a team, we achieved a total of 9 GOLD, 9 SILVER and 3 BRONZE medals!

Congratulations to:

Lydia Ward, Chloe Ward, Emma Ward, Shelby Bretting, Merina Pinto, Anika Beri, Risa Hasebe, Alicia Gilbertson, Jack Ward, Maile Sullivan, Avery Bretting, Eric Abou-Ghannam, Karl Abou-Ghannam and Alexia Abou-Ghannam
There's still time to sign up for the Singapore Masters Championships 2017!

This year, the event will be held at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex on Sunday, October 29. Swimmers between the ages of 20 and 99 years are welcome to join. Complimentary refreshments will be provided at the end of the Meet.

Registration closes on Friday, September 22. To register or for more information, please contact Efren (efrenl@amclub.org.sg) or Raymond (raymondc@amclub.org.sg).
Congrats to Rohan Beri and Elliot Tang!

They have worked super hard in their SwimAmerica stations and have moved up to the next station. Keep up the good work!
What does a warm up involve and how can it work for me?

The Warm Up is the beginning part of the workout. It builds in intensity, gearing your body and mind for the program that day. We have been doing 5x100m S.K.I.D.S. for warm up at each practice...but why? Click here to read more.
When are goggles appropriate?

Googles can either be a real blessing or pain for swimming instructors and are not essential in the early stages of learning to swim. Goggle-free time is also important in swimming lessons and can really be great for water play and exploration.

here and read more about when googles are appropriate and how you can help your child to progress with the help of goggles!
