As a follow-up to last week's newsletter featuring the expanded 2018 GRIZZLY BEAR PHOTO WORKSHOP in Alaska, SPOTLIGHT PHOTO SAFARIS is excited to share our 2018 photo safaris scheduled for Africa.
In August, we return to Tanzania for another 12-day GREAT MIGRATION SAFARI where 1-1/2 million wildebeest and zebras run the gauntlet of the crocodile-infested Mara River separating Kenya's Masai Mara from the greener pastures of Tanzania's Serengeti. We saw eight crossings in two days this year! The migration is one of the Ten Natural Wonders of the World and a sight not to be missed.

THE GREAT MIGRATION
(12 - 24 August 2018)
2017 GREAT MIGRATION SAFARI guests were once again treated to one of the greatest spectacles on earth. There is nothing in size that compares to the sheer numbers of ungulates involved in the migration - 1-1/2 million in all. We were fortunate to see eight crossing in two days - six in the first day alone!
The mobile feast attracts a massive number of predators as well - lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocs, hyenas, jackals, and vultures.
This year was memorable for the number of big cats with cubs.
Besides the migration, our 12 DAY / 12 NIGHT safari will take us through three of Tanzania's most photo-prolific national parks - Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti - and to remote Lake Eyasi where we'll visit local tribes for further photo ops.
 
And, of course, no safari in Tanzania would be complete without a day in the incomparable Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest volcano caldera and a unique ecosystem to around 26,000 animals, including all of the Big Five.
