Pastor Sonny and Sharon seem to have settled in since their return. We are so glad to have them back as you can tell from all the smiles in these photos taken during the celebration luncheon a few weeks ago.
HOSTS NEEDED! We have an amazing opportunity for Lee University's premier women's choir, Ladies of Lee, to perform at BUMC. To do this, we’d need to host about 55 college students in our homes for a night. If you can host one or more students in your home, please sign up in one of our lobbies.
To learn more about this awesome choir, check out their Facebook page.
This Sunday's “NOISY OFFERING” will again go to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. If you or your work associates would like to contribute more through the UMC relief agencies (where 100% of funds donated go the relief — O% to administrative costs), please donate by mail to:
Advance GCFA
P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY 10087-9068.
Please note in the memo line: Advance 901670
If you'd like to give through UMCOR, please make sure you designate UMCOR "Hurricane Harvey" on your check.

WE, AS SMALL GROUPS, MEET REGULARLY
It’s been right in front of us every week—for months! On our communion table in the sanctuary, this constant reminder almost glows: “We are the church TOGETHER.” We have been practicing this on a higher level during our Pastor’s Sabbatical. While times like that help us re-focus, we don’t want to relax back into poorer habits. “We are the church TOGETHER.” Along with our regular worship activities each Sunday, what else is in our schedules to enrich our spiritual lives? “We are the church TOGETHER.” Please join a small group so we all have a support network, accountability, and regular structure to help us remain God’s presence here in Asheville and for each other. For more information about our Small Groups and events, contact Anita Sayles: (828)216-6591, ageasayles@gmail.com, or click here to see the groups currently being offered.
