Achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, will require a massive effort from the water and sanitation sector, especially in low and middle income countries. The challenges are numerous and complex, going well beyond a simple investment in infrastructure, and progress in the sector is hampered by a shortage of appropriately skilled people in the workforce.
To support the sector’s efforts to meet the SDG on water and sanitation, the IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition is THE event where the science, practice and business of water comes together to find sustainable water solutions for developing and emerging economies.
