Well Drilling Team

This month the well drilling team was able to put in 5 different wells in villages thanks to several businesses and sponsors. Anne Taylor and Becky sponsored a well that was put into a village called Masunda. They were able to do ministry in the area and build relationships with the people this well would provide fresh clean water for. The "Montana Team" group was able to put in a well in missionaries Mario and Diana's home. These missionaries have not had running water in their home in the past 20 years of them doing ministry here in Zambia and their tears of joy over the news of their water pump showed just how much of a blessing this was to their lives. MarStuart Hulsey sponsored a well that was put into a village called Libuyu. This village is found on the banks of the Zambezi River, but these waters are infested with crocodiles and hippos. There are many stories of children who went down to fetch some water and killed by the crocs. Jordan Avants sponsored a well that was put into Nakatindi village right next to where their church is being built. People will be able to come to the well for not only physical water, but spiritual water as well, that never runs dry. Lastly, Avants Management Group put a well in Madina village where their lives will never be the same. August Team Trip

This month we had a team of Global veterans to come visit. Erin, MaryStuart, and Jordan were here for a week and spent so much time investing in the lives of the children at Global Samaritans. The kids had such an amazing time hanging out with these guys! They were able to go out to a few villages to show them God's light and love.
Anne and Becky stayed for a week and a half extra and got to do more activities with the children at Global, meet up with the college kids in Livingstone and went to assist the well drilling team and do ministry with the people in the village of Masunda.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our book fundraiser. When the team was here, we were able to have a wonderful book fair with the children at Global Samaritans. The children were so excited for new books in the library and were each given 2 book to call their very own. It would not have been possible without so many people being willing to support and give toward the book fund. Ever since they've been given their books, they can be found under a shady tree with a book in their hands.
You can be able to experience a team mission trip to Zambia to visit our children's home and work in the surrounding villages as well. We would love to have you join a team or lead your own team to come for a visit. For more information on team trips watch the video and click the button below.

End of Term Results

The children of Global Samaritans finished up their second of 3 terms at the beginning of August. At Sons of Thunder Primary School, this means the class rankings are announced in front of the entire school. Global is proud to announce that Gideo was ranked number 1 in the whole 5th grade.

Other's place in the top 5 of their class include; Marvin (number 3 in 3rd grade), Lawrence (number 4 in 2nd grade, and Ainess (number 5 in 1st grade). We are so proud of how hard our children have been working at school and it wouldn't be possible without the love and support of their sponsors back home!

New Additions

Global Samaritans would like to welcome Cholwe to the family. In the Tonga language, Cholwe means lucky and we sure are lucky to have the chance to show Christ's love to this sweet girl. Cholwe was born in January 2010 and is from Mukwalentila, Zimba. Her mother and father were never married and her father left,  has been married to 3 other women, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Her mother committed suicide in August 2011 and Cholwe was left with her uncle (mother's brother) and his wife and their 3 children. They have a small garden and are unable to provide for the family and Cholwe's physical needs.
So now Cholwe has found a home and a family with us here at Global Samaritans. She is 7 years old and in first grade at Sons of Thunder Primary School. She is surrounded by many sisters and a house mother who love her and is being taught all about the One who loves her more than she could ever imagine. This smiley, sweet girl is still in need of sponsors whose support will go towards helping pay for food, school, clothes, housing etc. If you're interested in sponsoring Cholwe or others like her, click on the link below.
