After three years of working with the local community, WLT's Peruvian partner have helped create a 8,650 acre (3,500 hectare) private conservation area (ACP), which has now been recognised by the Ministry of Environment in Peru.
This long-term project has been supported by the monthly donations of WLT Friends over the past few years, and now this ACP will protect Montane Forest and Páramo habitat for the benefit of local wildlife such as the Spectacled Bear and Endangered Mountain Tapir.
