Harvey, Irma, and the Gospel

Above is a picture of a prayer garden on the campus of Southern Africa Bible College. The Christians in South Africa are praying for those who have been affected by Harvey, for those who are going to be affected by Irma, and for those impacted by the earthquake and hurricane in Mexico. They have called and emailed to check on us. Their concern and prayers mean much to me and, hopefully, knowing that God's people who live half way around the world, are praying for you, is a comfort to you as well. God's family is big! It doesn't know any borders, and there's no disaster or hardship that isn't felt by others.

Our South African brothers and sisters also have the Bible College Lectureships beginning the first of October. It's a time for 500 or more Christians to sing, pray, study, and encourage each other. They will strengthen their relationship with God renew their commitment to sharing the Gospel across Southern Africa.
This is only the second one we Christie and I have missed in the last 7 years. But opportunities to speak at mission Sundays here in the States will keep us from attending. They are on our mind and in our prayers.

Below are two videos of the SABC students singing. One is the South Africa National Anthem, the other is the College's theme song, Higher Ground.

As you watch and listen, please pray for those who are hurting in the US, but also pray for the lost of Southern Africa and that the Gospel continues to spread there.
